Josie Sutton

I’m Josie, a senior at University of Nebraska-Lincoln majoring in advertising and public relations and journalism with a minor in human rights and humanitarian affairs. I will graduate in December 2026. I’m from Wahoo, Nebraska, but I am located in Lincoln where I live with my cat Boogie. I’m motivated by my passion for improving lives, which has influenced my choice to pursue journalism. My experience as a reporter for Nebraska Nightly has helped me work with deadlines, collect research and improve my interviewing skills. My studies in human rights further my commitment to ethical reporting and advocating for those who don't have as much of a voice. My experience as a college athlete and in the service industry strengthen my teamwork, problem-solving and communication skills. I'm excited to apply these skills to a profession that allows me to continue to create impactful and meaningful work.
